Study Guide compares the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury to the movie Fahrenheit 451 (1966) starring Julie Christie and Oskar Werner. Screenplay by Francois Truffaut and Jeannn-Louis Richard. Directed by Francois Truffaut. Produced by Lewis M. Allen. An Enterprise Vineyard Film Production. This is the ONLY film of the book. The movie version adds and leaves out some characters, but overall is fairly accurate and worth watching because it’s Truffaut.

I used this resources to help prepare me to teach my Fahrenheit 451 unit. I had my students read the novel, examine the graphic novel and watch the 1966 movie. I wanted to make sure that I could help my students note the differences between the movie and the novel. Some differences are subtle and others are somewhat significant. This made for a great discussion about whether the changes in the movie affected the overall message of the novel. This resource was a great reference! I will be using it again this year!
My students loved getting to see the movie. I used to be so against showing full movies, but great resources like this one helped me feel much better about doing so: digital literacy is an important skill for today's students, and they loved the movie and activities we did based on this resource!
Great resource!
